DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, "Mermod & Jaccard's St. Louis Paragon Time-Keeper" with hourglass image to mvt and dial, Grade 940, 21J, 18S, 3oz coin silver OF case with nickel cuvette, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#436007. The "Paragon Time-Keeper" was made by Hamilton for Mermod & Jaccard in four grades of 21 jewel movement (940, 941, 942 and 943) as well as two grades of 17 jewel movement (926 and 927), and these watches have a unique appearance with their distinctive hourglass logo to dial and movement. From the well-known Hamilton collection of Robert Bennett of Olivehurst, California.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces with some scattered fine to micro-fine scratches; dial with some very faint hls in center section, small patched edge chips under bezel near 2, very small flake to lower rim of center hole, some areas of mild perimeter rub under bezel; case shows medium wear, ding to band at 3, cuvette with some dents, reduced engraving detail, case rear opens a bit wide of 90 degrees and cuvette opens somewhat further wide of 90 degrees; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
